Drivers from across Shropshire have had the chance to see and test drive a brand-new award-winning vehicle thanks to a local motor dealer.
Furrows has dealerships in Telford, Shrewsbury and Oswestry, and all three sites have now taken delivery of the new Ford Puma which has just been named the WhatCar? Car of the Year for 2020. And Furrows of Telford’s new car sales manager Isha Alsadek said the vehicle – which was also named as the best small SUV in the WhatCar? Awards – was already proving hugely popular.
“There has been a great reaction to the all-new Ford Puma and our customers have been so excited to take the opportunity to get behind the wheel to try it out for themselves.”
Isha said the model had been named after a previous incarnation of the Ford Puma around 20 years ago, which was a compact and sporty coupe.
“The new Puma is Ford’s latest compact SUV and it has been chosen by WhatCar?’s judges as the top choice from a shortlist of around 30 new models that will arrive in showrooms across the UK this year. They said it was fun to drive, cleverly packaged and well-priced, and our customers are definitely agreeing with their opinions.”
Furrows’ customers have been very interested to learn more about the Ford Puma’s 1.0 EcoBoost engine and the highly-anticipated 1.0 T mild hybrid version.
“We’ve also seen a lot of interest in the model’s innovative storage capabilities including the clever MegaBox compartment which provides an additional 68 litres of space when needed,” said Isha.
“This not only gives extra capacity but also features a waterproof lining and a drainage hole – so for active families it’s ideal for storing wet or muddy gear, and there’s so much space you can even stand taller items upright in it, such as a standard sized golf bag. We’re very keen for existing and new customers to visit one of our dealerships to try the Ford Puma out for themselves and to find out just what makes it such an award-winning success.”
