Exciting finale to mark a special year

It’s sure to be a very happy Christmas for one lucky Shropshire motorist who was the big winner at a local motor dealer’s centenary celebrations.

David Miller, from Muxton in Telford, has been chosen as the winner of the Furrows Group’s biggest ever giveaway and scooped the top prize of a brand-new Ford Fiesta. “I just can’t believe I’m the winner – I’ve never won anything in my life before,” he said.

The giveaway initiative began on January 1st 2018, and culminated in a glitzy celebration at the company’s Telford FordStore dealership last night.

Any retail customer who bought a car from Furrows, or who had their car serviced by the Furrows team in 2018 – up until November 30th – was automatically entered into the draw to win the new Ford Fiesta.

There have also been monthly prize draws throughout the year with a whole host of car-related prizes such as a free dashcam supplied and fitted or a free service, as well as more general prizes including a spa break and dinner for two.

The monthly draw winners were among 200 lucky entrants who were invited to the big final event, where six keyholders were selected who all had the chance to try their key to see if it fitted the prize vehicle.

Furrows managing director Dave Farthing said: “It was an unbelievable way to round off our centenary year, and we’re so delighted to be able to hand the keys to the new car over to Mr Miller.

“We wanted to involve as many customers as possible in our celebrations to thank them for their ongoing loyalty and support. So it seemed the perfect way to mark our milestone anniversary by giving away one of Ford’s best-selling vehicles in an exciting and nail-biting competition.”

Throughout the year of celebrations, the Furrows team has also been raising charity cash for their chosen causes for the year – Hope House Children’s Hospice, the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, and the Severn Hospice.

There were also celebratory events for Furrows staff too including a showroom pantomime, a photo competition, and the chance to take part in a wide range of community events such as the Severn Hospice dragonboat race, the Onslow Vintage Tractor Rally, and the Shrewsbury Flower Show.
