Customers at an Oswestry motor dealership now have access to the very latest hi-tech facilities thanks to a major investment programme.
The brand new Furrows retail centre has been officially opened at the company’s Whittington Road premises, and over 100 people attended the launch celebrations.
Director of ŠKODA UK Duncan Movassaghi and his team of senior directors took part in the opening ceremony when the new ultra-modern 10-vehicle showroom was unveiled with capacity to display the company’s entire model range.
General manager at the dealership, Richard Pettener, said the evening was a huge success, and marked an exciting milestone in the history of the Furrows Group.
“It was a great pleasure to welcome so many visitors to our showroom which really does look fantastic, and the response we’ve had so far to the brand new facilities has been incredible.
“The building has been completely remodelled to match ŠKODA’s latest corporate identity programme, and the new exterior and interior signage combined with comfortable customer areas is already proving to be extremely popular.
“It’s been a dramatic change and the workshop behind the scenes has been upgraded too, with the addition of six new service ramps."
“The unveiling of our new ŠKODA showroom heralds the beginning of the Furrows Group’s centenary celebrations as we’ve been in business since 1918, and we couldn’t have asked for a more dynamic and exciting start to the anniversary programme.”
As part of the new-look facilities, customers can use the new computerised “car configurator” systems which allow them to choose from a range of colour and finish options when ordering their new car. They can select from a list of equipment choices, and then view their choices before placing their order directly with the ŠKODA factory.
Furrows Group Dealer Principal Dave Farthing said: “The new showroom is a major investment for Furrows, but we see it as paying the town of Oswestry back for the loyalty and support our local customers have shown us over the years.
“We’ve been in Oswestry for over 50 years, and it’s a great opportunity to show our dedication and commitment to the town and the county.
“We’d like to thank all our customers for their ongoing support, and everyone who attended the very special launch event which was a real celebration for our entire team.”
