A Shropshire motor group
has appointed a new general manager at its Oswestry dealership – but he
already knows the company better than most.
Richard Pettener has
taken over the reins at the Whittington Road branch of Furrows, and he
has worked for the company for the past 26 years.
“I’ve worked for Furrows for many years and held many different roles in the after-sales departments,” said Richard.
“And
now I’m delighted to have been given the chance to step up to the
challenge to oversee the transition of our business in Oswestry as we
unveil a brand new showroom in the coming weeks.
“I will also be
focusing on the co-ordination, development and management of the
dealership, as well as managing the service department.
“These
are extremely exciting times at Furrows of Oswestry, and it’s a real
honour to have been chosen to lead the team as we prepare for the
future.”
Richard has previously led the service teams at Furrows
dealerships in Telford and Shrewsbury, introducing new initiatives and
working practices both front-of-house and in the workshops to develop
the customer service the team offers.
He also completed his
Master of Science degree in the automotive industry after studying at
Loughborough University Business School as a post graduate alongside his
full-time job.
Furrows Dealer Principal Dave Farthing said:
“We’re very proud of Richard and his dedication and commitment to
Furrows over the years – he was the perfect choice to take over at
Oswestry.
“With such massive changes on the horizon for the
dealership, we’re pleased he’ll be at the helm during our transitional
phase and we hope his experience will ensure a smooth and stress-free
changeover.”
