Dan Edwards is based at Furrows of Oswestry, in Whittington Road, and he is now one of the very first in the UK to successfully complete a tough assessment process to become an approved Skoda sales manager.
“I’m absolutely delighted to have received the full Skoda accreditation – it’s a real honour to know that such a high-profile brand believes that I have what it takes to represent their aims and objectives, and to share my knowledge of their vehicles with our customers,” said Dan.
“It was a challenging process, but I’m very pleased that through hard work and commitment I have completed each of the elements required, and that my efforts have paid off.”
The training programme began late last year with a five-day course in Derby, followed by a series of tests in Leeds involving role play situations and written examinations.
“The role plays included motivating a team member who was under-performing, and discussions with a service manager to discuss how we could improve the dealership by working in partnership.
“The aim of the sessions was for the Skoda team to assess your leadership and motivational skills, as well as your awareness of commercial opportunities, and to see how your business knowledge aligned with Skoda’s brand values.”
Furrows of Oswestry’s general manager, Richard Pettener, said Dan’s success had been warmly welcomed by the rest of the dealership team.
“Dan has really worked hard to achieve this accreditation, and we’re all very proud of his success.
“We are a close-knit team and it’s great to see the support Dan has received from his colleagues that has helped him through this rigorous and demanding assessment process.”
