The all-new Kia Niro has collected a trinity of awards at the Carbuyer Car of the Year Awards 2023, topping various categories and being decided as the publication’s overall ‘Car of the Year’.
For the third year in a row Kia has collected various accolades at the Carbuyer Best Car Awards, having previously had class wins for Ceed, Sorento, and previous-generation Niro, with the all-new model topping two classes as ‘Best Small Family Car’ and ‘Best Hybrid’, adding to its already impressive resumé of awards.
The Carbuyer Car of the Year Awards assess every car on the UK market to celebrate the best cars across several different categories, including new and used cars. The all-new Niro follows in the footsteps of Kia’s hugely successful Sorento, winning the ‘Car of the Year’ award just as the seven-seat SUV did back in 2021.
Kia UK Limited President and CEO, Paul Philpott, commented: “Following on from the ever-successful first-generation Niro family, the all-new version has earned a highly positive response in a short period of time. To be named Carbuyer’s overall Car of the Year and topping two other categories, just months after its UK launch is a remarkable achievement – and something we and our nationwide dealer partners take huge pride from.”
Richard Ingram, Editor of Carbuyer.co.uk, commented on the all-new Niro’s impressive treble at the awards, saying: “Quite appropriately, the latest Kia Niro scoops not one but three titles at the 2023 Carbuyer Best Car Awards. Our favourite small family car, our top hybrid, and of course our overall Car of the Year, the fabulous new Niro builds on everything we loved about the old one, but with sharper styling, and a cutting-edge interior. It remains a practical, efficient and easy to drive family car – with a powertrain to suit all buyers. The Kia Niro is a most deserving winner of our 2023 Car of the Year award."
The all-new Niro was launched on UK roads in July this year with the ever-popular EV powertrain joining the line-up in August, and has continued where the multi award-winning previous-generation left off.
Available as a self-charging hybrid, plug-in hybrid or fully electric vehicle, the all-new Niro is equipped to suit a range of needs and preferences, and now has Carbuyer’s coveted ‘Car of the Year’ title to prove it.Text here ...
