Standard from launch on all grades the bi-function projection headlights also features static corning lights and projection front fog lights.
To further complement the Rio’s bold new contours LED rear lights are also featured on the top grade from launch.
Featuring a tablet-like ‘floating’ display and fewer buttons on the centre console All-New Rio boasts a distinctive interior with a premium feel.
Three sizes of display are available, which on higher grades is an impressive 7in and also features Satellite Navigation, Reversing Camera with Dynamic Guidelines, DAB, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.
The Kia Rio comes fully fitted with an RDS Radio/CD audio with MP3 disc compatibility, so you can soundtrack all your journeys. It also features Bluetooth® with music streaming, USB & AUX Ports. The All-New Rio offers the very latest safety features. In addition to the usual suite of driver aids such as Electronic Stability Control and Vehicle Stability Management Rio now offers CBC – Cornering Brake Control and SLS – Straight Line Stability; two new safety features which are standard across the range.
Rio’s most significant new safety feature is Autonomous Emergency Braking. Standard on all grades except entry, where it is a £350 option, this class-leading safety system also incorporates Pedestrian Protection to ensure that not only Rio and its occupants are protected, but also those outside the car. For entry grade cars the optional Advanced Driving Assitance pack (ADAP) combines Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Cruise Control & Speed Limiter and a Supervision instrument cluster.
In addition to revised versions of the 1.25 and 1.4 petrol engines from the previous generation, All-New Rio will be available with Kia’s 1.0 litre turbo-charged 3-cylinder petrol engine for the first time, and will be offered with 99bhp (with 5-speed manual transmission) or 118bhp (with 6-speed manual transmission).
There are also changes to the diesel line-up. The 1.4 CRDi engines is now available in two power outputs; 76 and 89bhp, both with a 6-speed manual transmision and emit under 100g/km CO2. The lower output version replaces the previous 1.1 CRDi.
