We’d like to welcome Harry Peirson to Furrows as he joins us as Assistant Service Manager at our Telford branch. However, Harry is a familiar face around Furrows already having started working at Furrows almost 10 years ago, at our Shrewsbury branch as Trainee Service Advisor. From there he went on and worked through the roles of Service Advisor, Warranty Admin, Workshop Controller and Team Leader. He moved to Commercial Service where he became Commercial Service Manager and stayed in that role for 2 years until he decided it was time to fulfil an ambition he had had for a while – to go travelling!
Harry had only planned on going travelling for 3 months, but spent almost a year travelling around Thailand, Bali, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and even managed to come back home via America. A volcano erupted while he was in Fiji which meant that all flights were stopped, so he was stranded in paradise for a month! While in Australia, where he stayed for 10 months, he got a working visa and did a few unusual jobs to earn enough money to stay out there – roofing, fruit picking and taxi driving to name a few!
He arrived back in England late in 2016 within a week was offered a job back in the service department at Furrows Shrewsbury. He then went back to the Commercial Service Department where he stayed for 2 months before making the move to our Telford branch to become Assistant Service Manager.
Harry said of his new role ‘Although managing the Car Service Department is a little different to the Commercial Service Department, there are still the same positives and negatives and I am looking forward to the challenge. We have many exciting things we are working at the moment, for example we are currently in the process of working with Nova Training to allow students to spend one day a week, within our workshop over the next 6 months’
