Dave Farthing and Antony Frost, who work at Furrows in Telford, are running Sunday’s race (SEP 11) to raise cash for the Self Unlimited charity, which supports people with learning disabilities.
Dave explained: “We are taking part in the race in memory of my brother James, who sadly passed away last September.
“James lived at Honeysuckle House in Ironbridge, a home for young people with multiple learning disabilities, which was supported by Self Unlimited.
“Antony and I are being joined by my cousin Jo Law who, unlike us, has never been a runner before and has been training hard.
“We are hoping to raise enough money to buy some raised garden borders and sensory equipment for people who use wheelchairs at Honeysuckle House.”
Dave added: “I know from personal experience what a great job the team do. We hope to raise enough money to enrich these people’s lives.”
Anyone wanting to make a donation can log onto the Just Giving website by clicking here -
Or they can text 70070, using the code iqen88 followed by a pound sign and the amount of the donation.
Dave said: “Donating through Just Giving is simple, fast, and totally secure. Your details are safe – they will never sell them on, or send unwanted emails.
“We hope people will dig deep and donate to a worthy cause helping people in Shropshire.”
